In the context of 4th Framework Program, Eurostat, the Statistics Office of the European Community, has launched a number of research projects aimed at measuring electronic commerce in all the member states.

The SUPCOM project belongs to this framework. Eurostat needed to supply the European Union with accurate figures on e-commerce and more specifically on the impact of e-commerce on the retail sector.

This European project will be led by the ADEC Consortium - ADEC, LIAISON SYSTEMS S.A and Mr. Pierre Dybman. This consortium has been chosen by EUROSTAT to carry out this survey.
